Child And Adolescent Services

Working with children and adolescents

For children and young people with social, emotional, mental health (SEMH) and sensory needs that are impacting on daily life, this might look like:

  • Anxiety
  • Unhelpful thoughts
  • Self-harm behaviours
  • Low confidence
  • Emotional dysregulation
  • Friendship difficulties
  • Sensory processing challenges
  • Difficulty developing coping strategies
  • Unsafe behaviours

What happens in counselling ?

A counselling session is  time set aside for you and your therapist to talk about the issues that have
made you seek therapy. A  safe place to talk  and explore your difficulties.

Counselling might include talking about past and present life events, your feelings, emotions,
relationships, ways of thinking and patterns of behaviour. Your counsellor  will help you look
at your concerns and help you to identify the best course of action for you, which might be helping you to resolve your difficulties or to find ways of coping.

Accredited Counsellors

At Feel Well Therapy our Counsellors will have either an advanced Diploma or degree in Counselling from a course provider verified by the BACP (British Association of Counselling Psychotherapies). They will accredited with the BACP and be experienced clinicians.
