January has a certain reputation. It arrives full of promise and optimism, with a quiet expectation that this will be the year we finally get everything right. And yet, for many people, January can quickly become tiring and overwhelming. Self-care turns into another thing to do properly, rather than something that actually supports us. This month at Feel Well Therapy, I’d like to gently slow things down and invite a kinder way of beginning the year.

November brings with it two important awareness campaigns — International Stress Awareness Week and Movember — both shining a light on the importance of looking after our mental health and recognising when life’s pressures start to take their toll.

his Menopause Awareness Month, I wanted to speak openly about a subject that affects almost every woman’s life. My own menopause journey began around 47. At first, I brushed off the night sweats, anxiety, and heat sensitivity as stress — but over time, I realised the joint pain, poor sleep, and emotional ups and downs were all part of perimenopause.
